JoltMaker FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)

Who can be a JoltMaker?
There is no certification needed to be a Jolt Maker. If you have great insights and can demonstrate that to us, you can be approved as a JoltMaker. We value substance, not form.

How do I decide what to charge for my TradeJolt Guidance on a given deal?
Minimum is $1 and maximum is $10,000. Each market is different. Some deals have broad appeal, othere are very esoteric and require a large portfolio. So we leave it up to you to choose.
What is my split on each transaction?
JoltMakers get 70% / TradeJolt 30% of all Guidance fees. These levels are subject to change in the future, but you would be notified of that well in advance.
When do I get paid and how?
JoltMakers are required to set up an account with Coinbase, Inc. a leading US approved, crypto-brokerage service. Payments are made instantly at time of purchase in USDC, a crypto currency that tracks the real dollar but also pays a generous interest rate. Once the money is in your Coinbase account, you are free to move it as you wish. It's your account.
Can guidance payments be recalled?
No. All guidance payments are final. Because your knowhow and expertise, in the form of your guidance, has already been given and cannot be recalled. JoltTakers are aware of this no-refund policy. If a JoltTaker has paid for guidance and a technical glitch has prevented transmission of the guidance electronically, TradeJolt will take care of emailing this guidance to the customer.
What if my guidance is bad and users lose money?
JoltTakers are likely to punish bad results by lowering their rating of the JoltMaker giving that advice. This hampers your ability to attract JoltTakers for your future guidance.

If a JoltMaker is found tempt to manipulate markets and front-run investors, TradeJolt reserves the right to suspend a given JoltMaker's participation in the market going forward. Any paid monies still accrue to that JoltMaker.
Do I have to pay credit card transaction fees or transmission fees?
No. These fees exist are paid by TradeJolt.

Can I rebate my followers a portion of the fees I charge as an incentive?
No. This would make the system unfair to other users. If you wish to lower the fee you charge for guidance, you can freeze new participants from that guidance and issue new guidance. Existing JoltTakers will not get a rebate on funds already disbursed.

Are these revenues taxable?
Yes they are taxable as ordinary income. You are paid as an independent contractor and this money is reported as such through a 1099 form to the IRS at year end.
Do I have to participate in the forums?
No, but you should stipulate that you don't provide followup services in publishing your deal. Most JoltMakers are very active in the forums.
How do I sign up?
